Unconditional Love

Last night, I caught my husband teary-eyed while watching a shared video in Facebook, you can call me bully for teasing and laughing at him. He used to do the same with me because I cry too easily every time we watch tear jerker shows. I laughed because I've never seen him that way over any sad movie, last night was actually the first time. Out of curiosity, I asked for the video he was watching. I thought it was something familiar. How could I forget? It was actually the video that made me cry a river along with other parents who have attended the parenting seminar at my daughter's school.

It was a story of a father and a handicapped son who have competed together in marathons and triathlons. Dick Hoyt, the father despite having heart condition pushes his son Rick in his wheelchair when competing. After their first race, Rick told his father: "Dad, when I'm running, it feels like I'm not handicapped." From that time on, they have completed together hundreds of competitive races across the country. And so they were called the Team Hoyt.

This is so touching. It never fails to make me cry every time I watch. Truly an inspiring father and son story and a great testimony for true unconditional love.
